A 36-year-old man will appear in Gore District Court today after allegedly using a chainsaw in a threatening manner.
The armed offenders squad was called to a home in Mataura, south of Gore, last night.
Police said when the AOS arrived the man was no longer holding the
chainsaw and was co-operative.
He faces three charges of possession of an offensive weapon, a golf club, knife and chainsaw.
