Man charged over south Auckland kidnapping

A 24-year-old Cambodian man has been freed by police after he was kidnapped in Papatoetoe, south Auckland, on Wednesday night.

Police said they were told of the kidnapping and achieved the "safe release" of the man.

A man was due to appear in the Manukau District Court today on a charge of kidnapping.

Police said the investigation was not finished and no other details were available.
