Man charged in Marice case

A man has been charged with murdering Whanganui woman Marice McGregor.

The 45-year-old beneficiary was last seen alive in her red Suzuki Escudo car near Lismore Forest, about 20km north of Whanganui, on April 19

Her body was found four weeks later down, a steep ravine off State Highway Four, about 30km further north.

Police spokeswoman Kim Perks last night said a 42-year-old Feilding man would appear in the Whanganui District Court today on a murder charge.

The Herald understands the man turned himself in over the weekend, but police did not reveal it until late last night because family were gathering for Ms McGregor's funeral.
