A 23-year-old man will appear in court tomorrow after another man was stabbed at a property in West Auckland late this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a house in Seabrook Avenue, New Lynn, shortly after 4pm.
The victim had suffered stab wounds to the stomach and was later takento Auckland City Hospital for treatment.
Late tonight police said his attacker will appear in the Waitakere District Court tomorrow morning on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful possession of a firearm and two charges of unlawful possession of ammunition.
It is understood a firearm and ammunition were found in a ceiling cavity at a nearby house, where the attacker had been hiding following the incident.
Two people who lived at that house have also been arrested after they initially denied knowing anything about the attacker's whereabouts. Police said one of those people has also been charged with possession of cannabis.
The victim was tonight having surgery for an abdominal wound, police said.
