A man has been arrested for carrying a fake gun in a central Auckland suburb this morning.
Police were called to Mountain View Rd in Western Springs at 11.25am after reports someone was seen carrying something suspicious, a spokeswoman said.
When police arrived at a block of flats nearby, on the corner of Tuarangi Rd and Great North Rd, they found a man carrying a fake gun.
He has been arrested.
In September, 69-year-old Michael David Mulholland was found dead in a stairwell at the same set of flats.
