Man attempts to lure two girls into car

A man with "sinister intentions" tried to lure two girls into his car to give him a massage, police say.

A man in a grey sedan approached two pre-teen girls outside the Chicken Shack at the Waitangirua shops in Porirua, north of Wellington, on Friday night, Detective Constable Matthew Fitzgerald said.

"The man offered the pair money to get into his car and give him a massage.

"The girls declined but a female witness was concerned enough to contact police on Friday evening after the incident.

"We're really concerned about this incident and the sinister intentions of this man," he said.

They would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident, as well as the two girls who were approached and the woman who phoned police, Mr Fitzgerald said.
