Man arrested for brandishing replica gun

A man has been arrested after allegedly brandishing a replica handgun in Hamilton yesterday.

Witnesses reported the man pointing a handgun out the window of a vehicle on State Highway One, north of Hamilton City, about 6.30pm, Acting Senior Sergeant Neil Faulkner said.

Armed police stopped the vehicle and found the replica handgun air pistol and other weapons, he said.

A 25-year-old Auckland man will appear in Hamilton District Court driving, drug and firearm-related charges.
