Man arrested after three-hour police chase

A Thames Valley man has been arrested after a three-hour police pursuit around the town early today.

Police were called to a Paeroa house after a reported row between two flatmates.

As they arrived, a vehicle smashed through the gates of the house and was driven off at high speed.

During the pursuit the vehicle rammed two police cars and caused a minor car crash.

A man armed with a steel bar was finally found hiding in a drain by a police dog.
