A man has been arrested following reports of a person "driving with a gun" in the central North Island last night.
A police spokeswoman said the man was arrested about 11.30am today after cordons were established near the town of Marton.
The cordons have since been lifted.
The Armed Offenders
Squad and police dog teams were also involved in the incident, the spokeswoman said.
