Police take a man into custody after an incident in the Whangārei suburb of Otaika this morning.

A man has been taken into custody after police rushed to a the Whangārei suburb of Otaika this morning.

Armed officers were in the area covering High St, Lancaster Place and Dakota Place, Otaika from around 10am.

Around 10.10am police were seen to take a hand-cuffed man from a property in Dakota Place and put him into a police car.
