Man accused of women's murder remanded for psych report

A 28 year old man charged with the brutal murder of two young women in the Porirua suburb of Titahi Bay last month has been remanded in custody for a psychiatric report.

Joseph Ogle made a brief appearance in Porirua District Court today. His interim name suppression lapsed today.

During his appearance, Ogle was abused by one person in the public gallery.

The bodies of Joeline Rangimaria Edmonds, a 21-year-old mother of two, and Jashana Maree Robinson, 16, were found by police in house in Morere Street on June 26.

Ogle was also charged with breaching a protection order in respect of Ms Edmonds.
