An Auckland man accused of selling cannabis to school children has appeared in court today.
The 18-year-old man from the suburb of Greenlane was arrested last Friday when, at his house, police found more than a kilogram of cannabis plant material, packaged in anticipation of sale.
Officers also found $4000cash.
It's alleged the man had been selling cannabis to people aged between 16 and 25 - some in school uniforms - since April last year.
He appeared in the Auckland District Court charged with possession of cannabis for supply and possession of needle/syringe for drugs. The man was given bail and will re-appear in court next month.
Police say they provide drug education lessons at a number of Auckland intermediate and secondary schools. These encouraged pupils to make safe choices around drugs and alcohol.
