Major disruption on Auckland rail line

Rail passengers will face delays and disruptions on the Western Line this evening, after a train broke down at Sunnyvale station in West Auckland.

Auckland Transport announced at 4.30pm on their Twitter feed: "Please expect delays and cancellations on the Western Line due to an operational incident at Sunnyvale station. Apologies for the disruption."

An Auckland Transport spokeswoman passengers were being transferred from the train to buses and taxis to get them home.

Buses and taxis were also being organised for other passengers on the Western Line.

"We are anticipate the delays until 5.30pm, at this point," she said.
