Million-dollar views on a slim budget have sparked a flood of interest in a luxury apartment on Auckland's waterfront.
The two-bedroom leasehold flat at the Viaduct Harbour has bucked the trend for soaring city property prices. It went on the market on Friday with a reserve of $195,000. Similar apartments
sell from $350,000-$500,000.
"Interest went through the roof within 24 hours," Bayleys real estate agent James Mair said yesterday. "It is virtually unheard of to have something listed in this price bracket."
Located in The Quays building at Customs St West, the flat is next to waterfront restaurants and bars. It boast views of the harbour bridge and has a backdrop of sheltered waters and superyachts.
Publicity material from Bayleys boasts this is "an opportunity to live like a millionaire without the price tag".
