It's followed by "1", which has been drawn 113 times and "3", which has been drawn 112 times.
Meanwhile "9" and "10" score as the worst, being drawn 57 times or less.
Lotto spokeswoman Emilia Mazur said once Powerball soared over $20m more people bought tickets hoping to be in with a chance of winning.
The most popular ticket was the $20 Triple Dip.
Lotto said tonight that Division 1 winners bought their tickets in Auckland and Wellington on MyLotto, and at Coastlands Lotto in Paraparaumu.
Strike Four was won by a player in Auckland. The ticket was sold at Countdown in Takanini.
A spokeswoman said anyone who bought their ticket from the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ App.
