Another three players who bought tickets in Otago, Waihī and Ōtaki have welcomed in the new year with a $333,333 cash boost each, after splitting the First Division $1 million prize.
A punter from Auckland won $5.5m in the December 27 Lotto Powerball draw, with their total prize being made up of $5m from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.
A week earlier, one winner from Whangārei took home the $6m Powerball jackpot.
The combined Lotto and Powerball prize amount was $6.2m, the largest prize since one player scooped a $16m jackpot on December 10.
What to do if you win
Ticket holders can see immediately if they have won if they purchased a ticket through MyLotto. Prizes of $1000 or less are automatically credited to the account.
For prizes exceeding $1000, winners must complete an online prize claim form.
Winners with physical tickets must still visit a Lotto retailer to claim their prize.
For the Powerball jackpot to be claimed, a ticket holder must get all six Lotto numbers correct as well as the added Powerball number.
