Dads are invited to give mum a break this weekend and take the kids along to a free day of rugby and family entertainment in support of the Wairarapa team.
Mums are also invited to the event, being sponsored by Wairarapa Building Society, during tomorrow's match at Memorial Park betweenWairarapa Bush and North Canterbury.
Marketing manager Vicki Thompson said gate entry was free and there would be an afternoon of entertainment for the children, including a sausage sizzle, face painting and balloons. Children could also have their photograph taken as a rugby player, with the aid of a cardboard cut-out.
It was a perfect chance for people to get out and support the players, while enjoying a day with family.
"This is part of our commitment to the community. We hope families will come down and make a day of it. There will be lots of things going on," she said. "Dads can give mum a break by bringing the kids down. They can watch the game, while the kids have a heap of fun.
"A lot of families can't afford to go out these days. This is one way of supporting them too."
Operations manager Andrew Bond said the children were sure to get plenty of excitement from having their photograph taken with the cardboard cut-out. Photos will be uploaded on to Facebook.
