Nakedness, togs and pyjamas have been deemed unacceptable attire for the first annual general meeting of the New Zealand Shareholders' Association, to be held next Tuesday.
Apart from those restrictions, the dress code will be relaxed and anything goes, said chairman Bruce Sheppard - himself famous for sporting atin hat at company meetings.
"Basically, as long as you are wearing something and it's not your pyjamas or togs, you are welcome," Sheppard said, adding that the meeting was open to everyone, not just association members.
The meeting will review the events of the first year of the association and hear two guest speakers - Commerce Minister Paul Swain and Joseph Healy, head of regional investment banking and private equity at ANZ Bank, whose forthcoming book will discuss why New Zealand's major listed companies are suffering from a long-term performance crisis.
Healy believes few boards of directors and chief executives in this country have done a good job in creating meaningful and sustainable shareholder wealth - a topic dear to the hearts of association members, Sheppard said.
He said the Act MP and association member Stephen Franks might even attend to heckle Swain in the run-up to the July 27 election.
The shareholders' association - which now has 270 members and a branch in Tauranga - will meet at the Quality Hotel Logan Park in Campbell Rd, One Tree Hill, at 2pm.
