Logging truck driver dies after vehicle hits bank

Save The driver of a logging truck is dead after his vehicle hit a bank on the East Cape this morning.
Emergency services responded about 8.40am to the crash site on Ihungia Road, inland from Te Puia Springs, north of Gisborne.
"A St John ambulance crew from Ruatoria were the first
emergency services on the scene and they confirmed the driver was deceased, police said.
The accident happened near the Poturu Bridge on the Ihungia Road, about 130 kilometres north of Gisborne.
Police said the log truck was operated by Opotiki firm Seymour Transport Services.
