Sir Brian Lochore has been confirmed as guest speaker for the Wairarapa Times-Age Sports Awards on June 5.
Sir Brian, 72, received the double honour of becoming an New Zealand Rugby Union life member and NZRU patron last month.
He played 68 matches for the All Blacks, captaining them in46. He became an All Blacks selector in 1983, coach in 1985 and guided them to success in the inaugural World Cup in 1987.
He was campaign manager for the All Blacks for the 1995 World Cup, and a selector from 2004-2007 and took on a range of other administrative and coaching roles within the game.
Entries to the Sports Awards are still possible, with the closing date for nominations tomorrow at 3pm at the Times-Age offices.
Tickets for the evening, at the Cophthorne Resort Solway Park Hotel, are available from the Times-Age, at $35 per person, $60 for two or a table of 10 for $250. This includes the awards and dinner.
