The top 16 ranked teams in the country are contesting the Federation Cup national secondary schoolgirls hockey tournament at Clareville this week, and locals will be hoping their twoparticipants make a similar impact to that they made 12 months ago.
Then Wairarapa College won the title with St Matthew's Collegiate placing third.
Wairarapa College, which are yet to taste defeat in 2012, are drawn in pool A, along with Whangarei Girls High, Epsom Girls Grammar and Gisborne Girls High. Included in the Wairarapa College squad are three national age group reps, Katherine van Woerkom, Morgan Percy and Megan Hull.
St Matthew's Collegiate are in pool C with Rangitoto College, Villa Maria College and Craighead Diocesan.
In pool B are last year's runners-up Diocesan School, St Margaret's College, Kristin School and Christchurch Girls High and in pool D are St Cuthbert's College, Rangi Ruru Girls, Palmerston North Girls High and St Hilda's Collegiate.
