DOC staff and volunteers tend to the pilot whales stranded at Farewell Spit. Picture / Jo Richards
Volunteers and Department of Conservation staff have worked tirelessly to rescue a pod of pilot whales which have stranded - and restranded - on Farewell Spit at the top of the South Island in recent days.
Why do they do it? And how can we stop them?

You can pose your questions to Project Jonah chair, Mark Simpson, who will join us at midday to discuss the latest whale strandings and the work of Project Jonah.
