Today on The Country radio show, host Jamie Mackay catches up with Alliance Group chairman Mark Wynne to discuss Alliance farmers backing the $270 million Dawn Meats deal for a 65% stake in the meat processor.

Mark Wynne:

The chairman of the Alliance Group discusses the yes vote on the Dawn Meats deal.

It was an overwhelming mandate – 88% of the shares on issue voted and, of those, 87% backed the deal.

Ultimately, it was a vindication of the board’s decision to partner with Dawn.

But was it Hobson’s choice?

And what will the deal do to solve the overcapacity issue in the red meat industry?
