Light earthquake in Wellington causes shaking

A magnitude 4 earthquake has shaken the lower North Island and top of the south.

The quake hit at a depth of 45km, and was situated 25 km north-east of Picton.

It struck at 11.07am and more than 2200 people reported feeling the shaking, most around the Wellington region.
