Light aircraft plane crashes at Motueka airport

A light aircraft plane crashed on the Motueka airport runway this afternoon.

A spokesperson for police said the plane crashed while trying to take off shortly after 3pm.

It is believed the plane did not leave the runway, and the sole occupant inside the plane is uninjured.
