Save A fire in a lift in a central Wellington building prompted a dozen fire appliances to be called to the scene.
The blaze, in a Knigges Ave business off Vivian Street, started about 7am, fire communications shift manager Megan Ruru said.
It was contained to a transformer in the lift
but the incident was escalated because smoke filled the building, she said.
There were no injuries and the fire was out out by 9.30am.
