Avid readers now have the chance to enjoy e-books for longer as Masterton District Library has increased its loan time.
The library started offering the books for either a seven or 14-day period last Saturday.
E-books are downloaded from the library website through ePukapuka - a group of 15 librariesin the lower North Island which share resources.
The e-books are downloaded on to a computer, iPad, mobile phone or other reading device, while audiobooks are talking books which can be downloaded to devices with the same capabilities.
Digital services team librarian Jeremy Langley said they trialled the shorter loan period so the collection could be shared among the community. "Now that the collection has increased to include over 1650 titles and is growing all the time, we are able to offer the longer loan period users have been asking for," he said.
