Lexus gets the Royal treatment

Prince Albert II of Monaco will have a special limousine for his wedding this week to South African Charlene Wittstock - a one-off petrol-electric Lexus LS 600hL landaulet.

A landaulet traditionally has the driver under cover and the rear passengers open to the elements.

But Lexus has come up with a transparent polycarbonate roof in case it rains on the royal parade.

The landaulet conversion was handled by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet and took more than 2000 hours to complete.

The exterior Midnight Blue colour was hand-painted.

The LS will be able to drive on electric power alone during the procession.
