Levin hospital plans stall

Plans for a new $13-million hospital in Levin have stalled as health chiefs push for a refit of the old loss-making Horowhenua Hospital.

An independent health planner will be called in to help resolve the impasse between MidCentral District Health Board and the Health Ministry over plans for the proposed Levin Health Centre.

The setback comes after the ministry approved $27.2 million for the redevelopment of Masterton Hospital and $7.6 million for Dunstan Hospital.
