A motorist came to an abrupt halt outside a legal firm whose services may be needed today after a police chase in the Waikato town of Te Awamutu.
Witnesses described a seeing a prolonged chase involving multiple police vehicles in pursuit of a white Mitsubishi on Tuesday morning.
At onestage, the car motored through the forecourt of a busy service station.

The vehicle eventually came to a rest after pulling into the driveway of a lawyers' offices on Teasdale St and a person was taken into custody by police.
Some onlookers said the pursuit had taken up to 45 minutes.
The white car had damage to the front and back of the vehicle.
The damage was believed to have been caused by collisions with other cars during the pursuit.
A witness said the driver jumped a gate and attempted to make off on foot but was bailed up between buildings by an officer with a dog and arrested.
