Konrad Hurrell's fate is expected to be decided in the next 24 hours, as the NRL's integrity unit continues its investigation into a leaked sex tape.
The NRL unit has received a report from the Warriors and will now finalise its investigation into how the tape, showing a sex actbetween Hurrell and Shortland St actress Teuila Blakely while the Warriors player was driving, ended up in the public arena.
An NRL representative was unable to confirm what, if any, offence Hurrell could be charged with.
"He hasn't been charged with anything as yet," the representative said. "It is a matter under investigation. We need the full and complete facts and need to follow all the due processes - that is the point of the integrity unit."
Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah was reluctant to speak about the issue. "I'm not in a position to comment while we resolve the issue between Konrad and the NRL."
Senior forward Jacob Lillyman hoped perspective could be maintained on the issue.
"It is just one of those things; a young bloke has made an error of judgment and he let it fall into the wrong hands. I just hope that the people investigating it see it that way and obviously Konnie learns a lesson from it."
Coach Andrew McFadden, who named Hurrell in the starting line-up to face the Raiders on Saturday, said the incident was an unwelcome distraction for the team.
We have dealt with a lot of distractions over the last few months," said McFadden.
"We will get through it. It's probably embarrassing for Konrad but we all make mistakes and he made one and will have to live with the consequences."
