Eager fans snapped up the last 900 tickets to Sunday's Rugby World Cup final between the All Blacks and France within three hours today.
A limited release of category A, B and C tickets went on sale at noon after ticket allocations for the two teams and their unions were finalised.
A Rugby New Zealand 2011 spokesman said the tickets, ranging in price from $767 to $1278, sold out within three hours.
Rugby NZ 2011 marketing and communications manager Shane Harmon earlier said the release was the last chance for fans to be part of the biggest rugby match in New Zealand history.
"The atmosphere on Sunday night will be unlike anything seen before in New Zealand and this is the final opportunity for fans to be able to say 'I was there'," he said.
Tickets for the bronze medal match between the Wallabies and Wales on Friday were still available.
More than 50,000 tickets have been sold to that match, with fewer than 9500 remaining.
