Laser shone into aircraft near landing

Dunedin police are still trying to pinpoint the culprit who shone a laser into an approaching aircraft near Mosgiel on Wednesday night.

The green laser was shone twice into the cabin of a Boeing 737, 14km north of Dunedin International Airport shortly before 9pm.

Senior Constable Trevor Wheeler said we "get these from time to time, and it is a concern".

Last year two young boys in the Kinmont area were cautioned by police after shining a laser into a cockpit.
