Large industrial fire in Hawkes Bay

Firefighters battled a large blaze at an industrial building in Hawke's Bay last night.

Fire Service central communications shift manager Mike Wana said multiple calls were made about the fire on Austin St in Napier about 9.15.

Staff arrived to find the building, which measured 25m by 15m, fully involved in fire.

At the height of the blaze, teams from seven fire trucks were working alongside each other, Mr Wana said.

The fire was brought under control about 10.30pm.

There were no reports of people inside the building.
