Large fire at South Auckland metal recycling plant

A large blaze at a South Auckland metal recycling plant tonight is being fought by multiple fire crews.

Emergency services were sent to the National Steel recycling plant on Hobill Ave, Wiri, about 9pm tonight.

Six fire trucks were at the scene still fighting the blaze just after 10pm.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the building was well involved with flames when they arrived.
