Firefighters are battling a fire at a tyre shop in central Hamilton this morning.
Northern communications spokesperson Jaron Philips said crews were called to AH Franks Tyres and Auto on Anglesea Street about 4.45am.
Mr Philips said firefighters first on the scene found the rear of the building "well alight"
when they arrived.
Six trucks remain at the scene, and an aerial unit is being set up to fight the blaze from above, Mr Philips said.
Fire safety will be investigating the cause of the fire later in the day.
