Police will meet this week with Labour Party supporter Len Richards over his alleged attack with a megaphone on demonstrators outside the Labour Party conference earlier this month.
The secondary schoolteacher was caught on camera apparently striking Jared Phillips and Bronwen Summers with a megaphone as they protestedoutside the conference centre in Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore.
Ms Summers, wife of veteran activist John Minto, lodged an assault complaint with police.
Mr Phillips has said he would not make an official complaint about the incident but has refused to accept an apology.
Mr Richards, husband of Service and Food Union delegate Jill Ovens, said he would be interviewed by police this week about the alleged assault.
