Drama teacher Juanita McLellan hopes the community will support the students' fundraising efforts.
"The students are selling all manner of arts and crafts, gifts, sweets and treats, jewellery and good winter food, as well as all the fun of a fair for kids, with face painting, pony rides and a bouncy castle," she said.
"We have stalls run by our students, and you can recognise them in their red and black outfits and red Tudor rose lapel badges. Stall sites are also available to other stall-holders.
"The students have kick-started their fundraising campaign by raffling off firewood and a luxury weekend escape. There is also a cook book in the pipeline."
Kuranui College also had established a blog at http://kuranuigoesglobel.wordpress.com to keep supporters up to date with the students' fundraising efforts and news about the trip.
Prospective Winter Solstice Market stall-holders should email juanamac@gmail.com.
