Korean student dies in hospital after accident

A 29-year-old woman who received serious head injuries when her scooter and a truck collided in Palmerston North has died.

Korean-born Jieun Jung was knocked off her scooter in the city on April 18. She died in Wellington Hospital early this morning with family members from Korea at her side, the Manawatu Standard reported.

Mrs Jung was a Massey University PhD student who moved to Palmerston North with her husband in 2006.

Senior Sergeant Brett Calkin said the crash investigation was continuing and it was too early to say if charges would be laid.
