Kite-surfer's funeral to be held at winery

The funeral for American winemaker Doug Wisor, who died in a kite-surfing accident, will be tomorrow at the Hawkes Bay winery where he worked.

Mr Wisor, 31, died on Saturday when strong winds dragged him across Te Awanga Beach, 18km east of Hastings, and slammed him into the side of a caravan.

Yesterday, Craggy Range Vineyards managing director Steve Smith said Mr Wisor's body would be cremated, then his parents, Dr Chuck and Joanne Wisor, would take his ashes back to the United States.
