Kidnap case remand

A man accused of kidnapping a 5-year-old girl has been remanded in custody until a depositions hearing in May to decide if he will stand trial.

Deqiong Deng, 25, a real estate agent of Rothesay Bay, appeared in the North Shore District Court yesterday at a hearing to fix a depositions date.

He was charged after Cina Ma, also known as Xin Xin, was taken from outside her Albany home.

She was found unharmed five days later.
