Kidnap accused seek bail

Four Chinese nationals charged in connection with the kidnapping of two Auckland men will apply for bail when they reappear in court today.

Guangyi Lai, 22, Li Wang, 22, Kai Zhu, 22, and Chongxu Rong, 19, were remanded in custody overnight when they first appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday.

They allegedly took two men from a restaurant on Tuesday night and tried to force them to withdraw cash from banks on Wednesday.
