Kawerau crash victim named

Police have named the driver killed in a Bay of Plenty crash on Saturday after apparently failing to take a bend and hitting trees.

He was David Raheke, 55, of Rotorua.

Mr Raheke was the sole occupant of the vehicle, which was found off McKee Road, near Kawerau, 58km north east of Rotorua.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash but earlier said alcohol and not wearing a seatbelt appeared to have contributed.
