A man has appeared in court following the hit and run death of an east Auckland father of three.
Sports coach Richard Samuels, 41, was killed in a hit-and-run in a carpark outside a karaoke bar while out celebrating his wife's birthday.
He was hit by a car during a
confrontation with another man in the carpark near the 123 Casino Karaoke Bar in Howick about 2.15am on Saturday.
A man appeared in Manukau District Court today on unrelated charges - three deception charges and one of driving while forbidden.
The Botany Downs man stood with his head bowed during his brief appearance in the dock.
