Oxfam New Zealand are going to embark on a trek of the Inca Trail in Peru next year - and you could be part of it.
The adventure will take place from 6 to 18 March 2016. The Inca Trail winds through the highlands of Peru, culminating at MachuPicchu - the world famous Lost City of the Incas and is known as one of the world's greatest hikes.
On the way, the group will stop in Cusco to grow used to the altitude. Led by experienced guides, you will then ascend via a well-defined path into a world of amazing natural and historical wonders, incliding Inca ruins including Phuyupatamarca, Sacsayhuaman and Ollantaytambo.
You'll push forward through high passes, discover ancient ruins for yourself, venture down into valleys and sleep under the stars.
This trek is one of Oxfam New Zealand's Inspired Adventures, simultaneously raising funds to fund Oxfam's critical emergency response work, particularly in the Pacific.
Oxfam's adventures are intended for those who are relatively fit and willing to train. People aged from 16 to 84 have taken part in the challenges, brought together by a sense of adventure.
You'll also get the chance to experience Oxfam's work first hand, with a visit to one of Oxfam's partner programmes. This is an amazing trip, and what better incentive to get fit and ready to go than the knowledge you're helping a great cause.
