John Barry Craig (known as Barry), 67, of Christchurch, worked for insurance broker and risk advisor Marsh.
He was at the Marsh offices in the Pyne Gould Corporation building when the earthquake hit.
A statement released by Marsh said Barry had worked in the company's Christchurch office for 12 years
