A jetski believed to belong to a man who went missing while trying to cross the Cook Strait has been found.
The man left the Tasman District yesterday morning heading towards Plimmerton, north of Wellington, but did not arrive as expected, police said.
Police and Search and Rescue teams havebeen conducting a water search with the assistance of Coastguard and the Rescue Co-ordination Centre New Zealand.
“A jetski was located near Cooks Rock in the Cook Strait yesterday evening, believed to be the one belonging to the missing man,” police said.

A search and rescue operation began on Monday with police vessel Lady Elizabeth IV, Marlborough Search and Rescue and Bluebridge Rescue currently in the Cook Strait, north of the Queen Charlotte Sound.
