Jackson new leader of Mana Motuhake party

Willie Jackson has been elected the new leader of the Mana Motuhake party after contesting the leadership from cabinet minister Sandra Lee.

The vote was made at the party's annual general meeting at South Auckland this weekend.

"Unfortunately I didn't have the numbers on the day, and that's politics in a democracy," Ms Lee said.

She said her responsibilities to the Alliance and the Cabinet had left her less time to spend on party organisation matters.
