Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern arrived in Vietnam last night and said negotiations would continue into the night for as long as it took.
"It is fair to say these negotiations are now down to the wire."
Jacinda Ardern has met United States President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Apec.
The leaders were attending a dinner in the coastal resort of Da Nang, Vietnam, which is hosting Apec.
In a photo shared to Twitter - with the caption "#NAFTA Pijama [sic] Party" -the New Zealand Prime Minister can be seen meeting the pair.

In another photo, the leaders - dressed in their so-called "silly shirts" - can be seen getting ready to pose for the traditional family photo before the dinner.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is seen shaking hands with Trump as Ardern looks on.
Ardern appears to done a bone hairpin featuring a koru design.
Talking to reporters this morning, she said said had not had a conversation with Trump but simply met him after Trudeau introduced them. No heavy discussions took place.
She had sat between Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi and the wife of the Papua New Guinean Prime Minister.
She would not say whether she raised the issue of the Royhingya crisis but did talk to her about the Constitution - which prohibits Aung San Suu Kyi the right to stand for president because she has foreign born children.

Foreign Minister Winston Peters had what he called "an advantageous" position at the banquet, seated between US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Peters also met Putin.
The Vietnamese hosts served Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc at the dinner and a Vietnamese red wine.
Trade ministers blindsided by Canada's sudden and unexplained opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership have begun talks to try and salvage the 11-nation deal.
Reuters reported this morning that the 11 nations working on the new version of the TPP trade pact have agreed to the core elements of a deal but more work needs to be done.
Reuters said a statement was due to be made today, and it marked "a successful conclusion to talks in Vietnam", which at one stage had looked headed for failure amid resistance by Canada.
