KEY POINTS:
Last week Mercury Energy's general manager James Moulder agreed to answer questions from Herald on Sunday readers on Mercury Energy's actions in turning off the power to the Muliaga family home in Mangere.
However, Mercury Energy is now refusing to answer any questions, citing the police investigation as a reason.
Readers sent in a range of questions, which included what lessons Mercury Energy had learned from this case, why it took so long for the company to apologise to the family of Folole Muliaga and whether the public backlash sends a message to state-owned enterprises and corporations that New Zealanders still expect those in need to be treated with compassion.
We are sorry that Mercury Energy has broken its word.
NEXT WEEK: Chris Moller, chief executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union
